Red Baron

Evolution's crash game, sitting in the live casino lobby. That single fact decides how it is verified, how a bonus treats it, and what the 20,000x is worth.

A plane climbs and the multiplier climbs with it. Up to three independent bets a round, each with its own cash out.

Red Baron is Evolution’s answer to Aviator, and the interesting thing about it is where it lives. It is a crash game sitting in the live casino lobby, next to Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette rather than next to Mines and Plinko. That one fact changes how it is verified, how it is treated by a bonus, and how much of the advertised 20,000x you can actually be paid.

Released in 2025, it is Evolution’s third crash title after Cash or Crash and Balloon Race. The return is 97%. Stake carries it in the live section alongside Ice Fishing.

How to play Red Baron

Betting is open for a fixed window, then the plane takes off and the multiplier climbs from 1.01x. Cash out before it flies away and you keep the multiplier. Wait too long and the bet is gone.

Three things are worth knowing before the first round.

  • Three independent bets a round, one more than Aviator gives you. Evolution’s factsheet lists the same 97% and the same 1.01x to 20,000x range on all three, so a second and third bet spread a stake across more exit points and change nothing about the return.
  • Auto cash out per bet, set individually, which is the only sane way to run three at once.
  • The round can end at 1.00x. Evolution states this plainly: the plane can fly away immediately and every bet on the round is lost. It is not a glitch and it is not rare.

Two variants ship, one with a live video host and one without. The host is presentation. The result comes from a random number generator either way, and nothing the presenter does touches it.

The 20,000x is capped at $500,000

Every listing leads with 20,000x. Evolution’s maximum payout is 20,000x or $500,000, whichever is lower, and almost nobody does the division.

Stake20,000x would payYou are actually paidEffective ceiling
$10$200,000$200,00020,000x
$25$500,000$500,00020,000x
$50$1,000,000$500,00010,000x
$200$4,000,000$500,0002,500x
$1,000$20,000,000$500,000500x

The headline multiplier only exists at stakes of $25 and below. Above that the cash cap bites first and the real ceiling falls away fast, so the player betting $200 a round is chasing a number that has quietly become 2,500x for them.

Nothing here is hidden, it is in the rules. It is just that a cap expressed in dollars and a ceiling expressed in multiples do not sit next to each other in any marketing, and the interaction is the whole point. Max win caps do the same thing to bonuses, which we work through in what a wagering requirement actually costs.

97%, high volatility, and what that combination means

A 3% house edge, same as Aviator, JetX and Aviamasters. Evolution applies the single 97% figure across all three bet slots, so there is no clever combination to find.

Volatility is high, and a 20,000x ceiling on a 97% return tells you why. The money funding a payout that large has to be withheld from somewhere, and it is withheld from the ordinary rounds. Expect frequent early busts punctuated by rare long flights. That is the design, not a cold streak.

Which also disposes of the doubling systems. At a 2x target you lose roughly half the rounds, so fourteen consecutive losses turns up regularly inside a thousand. Doubling through fourteen needs 16,383 times the opening stake to place the fifteenth, and the table maximum ends the sequence before your balance can.

Why the live lobby changes the deal

This is the part that separates Red Baron from every other game in this category, and it cuts twice.

There is nothing to verify. Evolution runs certified RNG with no seed pair exposed, so you cannot recompute a round the way you can with a house Mines or Plinko. On this it is level with JetX and behind Aviator, which at least publishes a documented three-seed check. An independent audit of the generator is a reasonable assurance and it is not the same claim as arithmetic you can run yourself.

The bigger one is bonuses. Because it is classified as a live casino game, it picks up the live contribution rate, which is typically 10% and sometimes zero. Clearing 35x on a 100 bonus at 10% means staking 35,000, and through a 97% game that costs about 1,050 in expected losses to release a bonus worth 100. That is not a slow route to the same place, it is a considerably more expensive one.

At Stake there is a second mechanism on top: bonus wagering is weighted by house edge rather than by money staked, calibrated to a 4% game, so the advertised rollover understates the real requirement. Stake also applies a 100% turnover requirement to every deposit before withdrawal with no bonus involved, under clauses 8.5 and 8.10.

The workable answer is the same as for the rest of the category. Play it with your own money, or take an offer with no playthrough from the no wagering casinos page. How live games are treated more generally is on the live games page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Red Baron?
97%, published by Evolution and applied identically to all three bet slots. That is a 3% house edge, the same as Aviator and JetX, and three times the cost per wager of a 99% house original like Mines or Plinko.
What is the maximum win in Red Baron?
20,000x, but the payout is capped at 20,000x or $500,000, whichever is lower. The full multiplier is therefore only reachable on stakes of $25 and below. At $200 a round your real ceiling is 2,500x, and at $1,000 it is 500x.
Is Red Baron provably fair?
No. It is an Evolution live casino game running certified RNG with no seed pair exposed, so a round cannot be recomputed by you. That is an independent audit of the generator rather than something you can check yourself on your own round.
Does Red Baron count towards wagering requirements?
Usually at the live casino rate, which is typically 10% and sometimes zero, because that is the lobby it sits in. At 10% contribution, clearing 35x on a 100 bonus means staking 35,000, costing roughly 1,050 in expected losses to release 100 of bonus.
How many bets can I place in Red Baron?
Three independent bets per round, each with its own auto cash out. Evolution lists the same 97% return and the same 1.01x to 20,000x range on all three, so extra bets spread a stake across more exit points without changing the expected result.
Can Red Baron crash at 1.00x?
Yes, and Evolution states it in the rules. The plane can fly away immediately, losing every bet placed on that round. It is a normal outcome of the distribution rather than a fault.
Is the live host affecting the result?
No. Two variants exist, one with a video host and one without, and the outcome comes from a random number generator in both. The host is presentation and has no access to the result.

Pros

  • Auto cash out per bet, set individually
  • Evolution build quality, with a hosted and a host-free variant

Cons

  • The 20,000x is capped at $500,000, so it only exists below $25 a bet
