Keno Xtreme

A lottery game with a feature you buy for a hundred times your bet. Every 50,000x clip you have seen came out of that feature.

Pick numbers, the game draws, you are paid on matches. Super Boost adds two draws and a 100x symbol for 100x the bet.

Keno Xtreme is a lottery game with a feature you buy for a hundred times your bet. Everything written about it online is built on the 50,000x payouts streamers have hit, and almost all of those came out of that feature. Understanding what it costs is the whole job of this page.

It comes from Degen Lab, the studio behind Plinko Xtreme and the Stake-exclusive Ramen Quest, and it runs at Stake. It is not a crash game. It sits in the same instant games shelf that casinos file crash titles under, and it is the highest ceiling on that shelf.

How Keno Xtreme works

Keno is the oldest idea in a casino. You pick numbers from a grid, the game draws a set of its own, and you are paid on how many of yours come up. No skill, no decision after the bet, and the odds are fixed by the hypergeometric distribution rather than by anything the operator chose.

What an operator does choose is the paytable, and that is the only lever that exists. Two keno games with identical draws can return wildly different amounts purely through what each match count pays. Land keno lounges commonly run at 65% to 75%. Online keno usually sits between 85% and 95%. A casino’s own provably fair keno can reach 99%.

Xtreme is the version of that paytable pushed to its limit. Volatility modes stretch the payouts further with each step, and the top setting, Degen mode, carries a maximum win of 50,000x.

Super Boost costs 100x your bet

This is the feature the game is known for and the one worth doing arithmetic on.

Super Boost draws two extra numbers beyond the standard ten, giving twelve reveals instead of ten, and randomly selects one of your numbers to multiply the winnings by 100. In exchange it costs one hundred times the base bet.

Read that as a stake rather than as a price and it comes into focus. A 1 base bet with Super Boost is a 100 wager on a single round. A 10 base bet is a 1,000 wager. The feature is not an upgrade to a small bet, it is a large bet with a different animation.

Base betCost of one boosted roundTen boosted roundsExpected loss on ten, at 97%
$1$100$1,000$30
$10$1,000$10,000$300
$50$5,000$50,000$1,500
$10,000$1,000,000$10,000,000$300,000

The last row is not invented. It is the streamer session that produced the widely shared 50,000x result: a $10,000 base bet with Super Boost active, which is a million dollars committed to one round. The clip shows the win. It does not show the rounds either side of it, and the expected cost of ten such rounds is $300,000 at a 97% return.

A feature buy cannot beat the game it is attached to. The price is set so the return stays where it was, which means buying the feature changes the shape of your results and not their direction. What it does change, and changes enormously, is how fast the house edge is charged. The same principle governs the Safe Landing buy in Aviamasters 2.

Keno Xtreme against Stake’s own Keno

Stake runs both, in the same lobby, and they are not the same product. This comparison is the most useful thing on the page.

The in-house version has the higher ceiling, the published return, and the only fairness guarantee you can act on. The four risk levels there do the same job Xtreme’s volatility modes do: on a 5-pick board, Classic pays from a single hit and returns something in roughly 80% of rounds, while High pays nothing below three hits and returns zero about 62% of the time. Same draw, same odds, money moved around the paytable.

So if the reason you opened Keno Xtreme was the 50,000x, the Original next to it goes to 100,000x, tells you what it returns, and lets you check the round. That is an unusual combination of answers and it is worth knowing before you pick.

The number nobody publishes

We could not find a theoretical return published for Keno Xtreme by Degen Lab or by any casino carrying it. On a keno game that is a bigger gap than it sounds, because the paytable is the only thing that sets the return, and a paytable tuned for 50,000x can sit anywhere from generous to poor depending on what it gives up in the middle.

Check the game’s own information panel before the first round, and hold on to a caveat from Stake’s terms while you do. Stake reserves the right to adjust the house edge at its sole discretion without prior notice, and states that in the event of a discrepancy between its house edge and the RTP displayed in-game you should contact support, and that it accepts no liability whatsoever should you place a wager in reliance on the displayed figure. That is unusually candid rather than unusually bad, and it applies to every third-party game in the lobby.

The one operator that answers this for its whole library is Riobet, whose Game Rules page lists every title with its deployed return and its exact bonus contribution, sortable by either.

Bonuses and where it runs

Assume excluded. Keno is on more exclusion lists than any game except crash, and at Stake the in-house Keno is named directly among the 22 Originals blocked by taking a deposit bonus, alongside Dice, Plinko, Mines, Crash, Limbo and Hilo. A deposit bonus there also locks out 47 studios and 678 individual titles, and Degen Lab is a third-party studio.

There is a second reason to keep a bonus away from this one specifically. Most offers carry a maximum bet while wagering, commonly around 5 units. Super Boost multiplies your stake by a hundred, so a 1 base bet becomes a 100 wager and breaches that clause in a single click. That is the kind of breach a casino notices at withdrawal rather than at the moment it happens, and the clauses that decide what follows are in the guide to reading casino terms.

Play it with your own money, or take an offer with no playthrough from the no wagering casinos page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Keno Xtreme?
Degen Lab does not publish one, and we could not find a figure stated by any casino carrying it. On keno the paytable is the only thing that sets the return, so an unpublished figure is a real gap. Check the game’s information panel, and note that Stake’s terms disclaim liability for the RTP displayed inside a game.
What does Super Boost do in Keno Xtreme?
It draws two extra numbers beyond the standard ten, giving twelve reveals, and randomly boosts one of your selected numbers to multiply winnings by 100. It costs 100 times the base bet, so a $1 base bet with Super Boost active is a $100 wager on one round.
Is Super Boost worth buying?
Not in the sense of improving your odds. A feature buy is priced so the return stays where it was, so it changes the shape of your results rather than their direction. What it does change is the rate at which the house edge is charged: ten boosted rounds at a $10 base bet is $10,000 staked.
What is the maximum win in Keno Xtreme?
50,000x in Degen mode, the highest volatility setting. For comparison, Stake’s own in-house Keno reaches 100,000x on ten picks at High risk, returns a published 99%, and lets you verify each round.
Is Keno Xtreme provably fair?
No. It is third-party studio software with no seed pair exposed, so you cannot recompute a round. Stake’s own Keno is a provably fair Original with a server seed, a client seed you control and a nonce, and it sits in the same lobby.
Is Keno Xtreme a crash game?
No. It is a lottery game: you pick numbers, the game draws, and you are paid on matches, with no cash out and no decision after the bet. It appears next to crash titles because casinos file both under instant games.
Does Keno Xtreme count towards a bonus?
Assume not. Keno is on most exclusion lists, and at Stake the in-house Keno is named among the 22 Originals blocked by a deposit bonus. There is a separate trap here too: Super Boost multiplies your stake by a hundred, which will breach a maximum bet clause of around 5 units in one click.

Pros

  • A 50,000x ceiling in Degen mode, the highest on the instant shelf
  • Volatility modes that genuinely change the shape of a session
  • Simple to play, with the odds fixed by maths rather than by the operator
  • From the studio behind Plinko Xtreme and Stake-exclusive Ramen Quest

Cons

  • No published RTP anywhere, and on keno the paytable is the whole return
  • Super Boost costs 100x the bet, turning a $1 stake into a $100 wager
  • That same multiplier breaches a max bet clause in one click
  • Stake's own Keno goes to 100,000x at 99% and can be verified
